Scott,

I'm not a mathematical expert, and so I'll leave the debate of mathematical figures and calculations to other, more qualified contributors to this board. However, I can comment on things cultural and chronological.

On page two of your paper already, you ask yourself the question why the pyramid of Menkaure is much smaller, while he had access to the same resources as his predecessors. The motive to build this smaller pyramid is actually quite clear, in terms of evolutions in the ancient Egyptian mortuary complex. By the end of the 4th dynasty, we see an increase of importance of the mortuary temple. As you can see on maps and diagrams, Menkaure's mortuary temple is much bigger than previous versions. It even deflects attention from the pyramid. The change of adding more importance to this temple continues to show in pyramid complexes of the next dynasty.

You also say there are no hieroglyphs in the pyramids; this is incorrect, as there are various quarry marks in the upper relieving chamber of Khufu's pyramid, left by the workers. An example is the inscription: "friends of Khufu".

You add weight to your "mathematics is the key" proposition by citing authors who have already come to the same conclusion. An argument by authority is not a valid argument in scientific discussion. Come to think of it, Graham Hancock is amongst the cited authors, and he is not at all an authority smiling smiley

You wrote that in order to be able to read the coded message, one needs knowledge of abstract numbers like Pi and Phi. However, our evidence indicates that 4th dynasty Egyptians did not have this knowledge. Try a search on this board for the infinite discussions on this subject.

Your figure 2shows a circle with Khafre's pyramid as its centre. However, the radius of this circle hits the outer corner of Khufu's pyramid, but doesn't seem to have any relevance on the lower side of the plateau (why not a corner of Menkaure's pyramid), and although you say it misses the Sphinx, it seems to hit its rear end if you ask me. Your use of the word "precisely" is in this case somewhat of a déjà vu, since we've heard so many alternative writers use it. Apparently, we have a different understanding of what precisely really is. Also, why did you use that simple map of the Giza plateau? There are much better versions available.

Since all your next diagrams are based on this "figure 2", which doesn't seem to touch many points of relevance, I can't see why your theory is different from all the other mathematic games that have been played here at Ma'at: fun to look at, but without the slightest historical basis.

You say the Sphinx faces the dawn of the age of Leo. This has been proposed many, many times. The problem, however, is that 4th Dynasty Egyptians did not recognize the constellation Leo as a Lion. The modern zodiac is something we have inherited from the Babylonians and the first Egyptian version can be found in Denderah, and is in fact millenia younger than the Giza pyramid complexes.

And Scott, if there is a masterplan, why did Djedefre leave Giza for Abu Roash? Perhaps because he didn't like maths? smiling smiley

In short, it doesn't make me go "wow" like with Don...
