You left out the sighthounds. Greyhounds were not bred to chase a 'hare' around a racetrack. They excel in speed and the ability to take down prey. Actually the same characteristics have been developed in several countries. Out in open country a coyote stands little chance unless it has a substantial head start.

However there is little chance of greyhounds going feral. They lack an undercoat of hair or the fat layer to survive in colder climates.
