Jason Colavito was criticizing Zena Halpern's book. As far as I know he has not read The Scrolls of Onteora - The Cremona Document by Donald Ruh.[www.amazon.com] And I have no idea what he is referring to in "The Onteora Document".

As far as the name "Onteora" my searches only show Onteora; village in the Catskills in Ulster County, New York. An Indian word meaning "hills of the sky" and a Boy Scout camp by that name."

In A Year We Remember de Sudeley used phonetic spellings for proper names. For example "Lan-ap-pee" referrs to the Lanape sometimes referred to as "Lenni Lanape" which today we recognize as the Delaware Tribe.

With all the substitution ciphers and translations from Latin to modern languages it may just be an accident that the modern spelling of "Onteora" resulted.
