Good read.

I knew a veterinary acupuncturist. He would show up at barns and kennels, treating animals. his success rate with injured animals was very high. Since the animal has no expectation of relief, there can be no placebo effect: it works or it doesn't, and for animals, at least, it seemed to work well.
