The cattle multilation literature reminds me of David Paulides' “Missing411” book series.
The main difference is that he doesn't specifically claim that something either supernatural or
extraterrestrial is causing people to disappear in the US National Parks. He instead insinulates
that something odd, mysterious, and currently unexplainable is happening to park visitors and
the Park Service does not want to admit that it is happening.
