You are thinking here about the OCT.
The shafts of the Great Pyramid were for Khufu's purposes and Khufu may not have been part of any plan to mimic three stars on the ground.

I note on page 155 from the Book about the OCT :

"Only an opportunistic choice made by Menkaure could explain how such a plan could have resulted intentionally"

The point is, the use of whole numbers 7 over 11 as an approximation may have been more important than any decimal place directional accuracy.

Also the dead king would be performing the Heb Sed for many years after his death, so one precise dating year was not relevant.

It seems that the QC shaft angles were both 9 on 11.
Again the builders have chosen approximation ratios.
So for the shafts they used 7/11, 9/11 and 11/11
Looking for dating from this will only lead to an approximation.

As to the purpose of the QC shafts and these numbers I will quote the book :

On page 101
"If the shafts had a symbolic purpose, then it is not inconceivable the the numbers chosen (9,11 and 7) to define their lengths and inclinations may also have been imbibed with symbolic meaning".

and on page 103
"It remains difficult to fully understand the links between the orientation of the shafts and objects in the nights sky; however it does seem likely that they had a symbolic purpose related to the afterlife of the pharaoh and the heavens above, as was discussed in the opening chapter".

But, Dave, you discussed with some conviction the links to the Heb Sed at the start of the book. Why not make the connection !!
