Once upon a time (1983?) I visited a site in Egypt. What I remember about it was vast acres of broken reddish pottery in the surrounding sand. It was an ancient Egyptian pilgrimage site. I no longer remember which one. The broken pottery was meters deep and as I said covered acres of land.

Any idea which one it might have been, 'near' the Aswan to Cairo rail line too.

Thanks
