Just read this from your link:

*Finally, he adds what he calls Common Notions which embody some general principles of logic (of pure reason) specially needed in geometry, such as that *__things which are equal to the same thing are equal to one another;__ that if equals be added to equals, the wholes are equal, etc
Thus if ratio of sq rt of 3 to Phi is 1.0704663 (rounded)

and if ratio of base of G1 to G2 is also precisely equal to 1.0704663 (rounded)

Thus LOGIC DICTATES that G1 being the larger of the two is equal to sq rt of 3 and G2 being the smaller, is equal to Phi.

And since 1/2 of the sq rt of 3 in a ratio to Phi is 1.868

and ratio of Mercury semi major axis to Venus is equal 1.868

thus LOGIC DICTATES that Mercury = 1/2 sq rt of 3 AND 1/2 base of G1 which we have just determined equals the sq rt of 3

Yup I have been trying to show people the logic of this for years. Maybe if they read it in this paper.

Thanks for the link.

PS: I remember being taught this, surprised so many have forgotten it.
